for SALT V9

SALT V9 Service Pack 4 updates your copy of SALT V9 (Clinical, Instructional, or Research) to release version 9.0.4. You should download and install this service pack if the release version of your copy of SALT is 9.0.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.2, or 9.0.3. You can check the release version by starting up the SALT program and selecting "About SALT..." from the Help menu. The release version is displayed in this window. Note that nether the SALT Bilingual S/E CDs nor the SALT Student CDs may be updated.

for SALT V8

SALT V8 Service Pack 3 updates your copy of SALT V8 (Standard, Instructional, or Research) if the release date, printed on the front of your SALT CD, is before October 15, 2004.

SALT 2008 Reference Databases

may be used with SALT V7, V8 and V9

These reference databases are included with SALT 2008 but you may download them for use with SALT V7, V8 and V9.

  1. Transcript files cannot be saved and analyses cannot be printed;
  2. The demo version contains only a small sample of the reference databases included with SALT 2008;
  3. The SALT User Guide, which contains useful information on collecting, transcribing and analyzing language samples, has been shortened to include only the most basic information;
  4. Only three of the eight lessons have been included. These lessons provide you with step-by-step instructions for entering and analyzing language samples.

SALT New Zealand

The New Zealand reference databases consist of conversational and personal narrative and story retelling samples from approximately 250 typically developing children, aged between 4;6 and 7;6 years. The children were randomly selected from schools in Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch (major urban areas in New Zealand) as well as secondary urban areas surrounding Christchurch. These databases are included with SALT 2008 but you may download them for use with SALT V7, V8 and V9.
