Download the SALT 2010 English demo version or the SALT 2010 Bilingual SE demo version. Or have the demo CDs mailed to you.

Differences between Demo Versions and the Purchased Versions

  1. Transcript files cannot be saved, and analyses cannot be printed;
  2. The demo versions contain only a small sample of the reference databases included with SALT 2010;
  3. The audio files for transcription practiice are not included.
  4. Only a small subset of the dictionary used to identify root forms is included.
  5. The frog story audio files, used as an alternate method for eliciting samples in the Bilingual SE version, are not included.

Download and Install the SALT demo on your computer.

  1. Download the English Demo Version or the Bilingual SE Demo Version. Save this file to a temporary folder on your computer.
  2. Run the file you downloaded in Step 1. To do this either open the download folder and then double-click this file, or select "Run" from the Start menu and select this file from the download folder.

    Follow the installation instructions on the screen. The setup process creates shortcuts on your desktop and in your Start menu.

Run the SALT demo program

  1. Double-click the shortcut (icon) labeled SALT 2010 English Demo or SALT 2010 Bilingual SE Demo which contains options for running the various components,
  2. Or select All Programs --> SALT 2010 Demo from the Start menu.

Uninstall the SALT demo

From the Start menu, select All Programs --> SALT 2010 Demo --> Uninstall SALT 2010 Demo. Note: you may also remove this demo software using the "Add/Remove Programs" option in the Windows Control Panel.
