Q. Is there a Mac version of SALT?
A. No, SALT is only available as a Windows® program. If your Mac is able to run Windows® XP or Vista, however, it can run SALT.

SALT on a Mac

Although SALT is a Windows-based program, many Mac users have the option of running SALT on their Macs. If your Mac is able to run Windows®, it can run SALT.

Minimum System Requirements

The following are the minimum system requirements recommended to run SALT and Windows on a Mac:

  • Operating Systems: Mac OS 10.5x (Leopard); Mac OS 10.6.x (Snow Leopard)
  • Processor: Intel-based processor (any clock-speed)
  • Memory: 1 GB SDRAM (any frequency)

Does my Mac meet the minimum system requirements recommended to run SALT?

  • On your Mac, click on the Apple icon located on the upper left-hand corner of your screen (i.e., menu bar)
  • Select: About This Mac

What You Will Need

  • New copy of Windows operating system CD
    • XP or Vista
    • It cannot be an Upgrade copy
  • New (or existing) SALT installation CD or Student CD

What Now?

  1. Install new copy of Windows on your Mac
  2. Install SALT in Windows, running on your Mac
