Inserting Comments
Comments that are inserted on utterances must be enclosed in braces { } and placed before the end-of-utterance punctuation mark. For example,
C Then he jump/ed in the water and splash/ed the boy {C laughs}.
Comments, not related to specific utterances, may be included for clarification. Enter your comment on a line that begins with an equal sign =. You may enter as many comment lines as you want at any point in the transcript, starting each new comment line with an equal sign. You are not required to include final punctuation marks at the end of comment lines. For example,
= the child talks softly and there's a lot of background noise
C Then they X for the XX.
C So we all left. |
