Things to notice:
- him[EW:he] is a word-level error. The child used the incorrect pronoun "him" instead of "he". Word-level errors are marked by attaching the bracketed error code at the end of the word with the correct word inside the brackets. There is no space between the word and the code.
- in[EW] is an example of an extraneous word. The child should not have included the word but there's no correct word to replace it with.
- [EU] marks an utterance-level error. This code is used to mark utterances in which specific word-level error codes and/or omissions cannot be used to "correct" the utterance because it is unclear what the speaker intended to say. Utterance-level error codes are placed at the end of the utterance with a space between the last word and the code.
