Things to notice:
- <And then what happen/ed> & <(He) he roll/ed> were spoken at the same time. All words spoken concurrently are included in angle brackets, even speech that is mazed.
- <> & <Mhm>: the empty angle brackets indicate the location of the examiner's feedback, i.e., mhm, while leaving the child's utterance intact.
- Punctuation note: the overlap markers must precede the ending punctuation marks, e.g., >? and >.
