How can I get my computer to open .slt files in SALT? When I click on a transcript, it opens in notepad.

Comments

  1. For Windows: Your .slt file should open in SALT just by clicking on the file. If it does not, there are a couple of different methods to associate the program to your file type. Method 1: Open SALT and use the File-->Open menu to find your file. Method 2: Right click on the file name Select Open With Select Choose another App Check the box that says Always Use this App to Open .SLT files Find the SALT program in your list of Apps If you can't find the SALT Program, search in the Program Files (x86) folder Select OK Method 3: Open the Control Panel Select Programs Select Default Programs Select Associate a file type or protocol with a program Navigate to the .slt extension and select it Click on Change program Find your SALT program file and select OK

  2. For Mac: Your .slt file should open in SALT just by clicking on the file. If it does not, there are a couple of different methods to associate the program to your file type on a Mac. Method 1: Open SALT and use the File-->Open menu to find your file. Method 2: Click on the file name in the finder window. If you get an error message saying there is no application set to open the document, select Choose Application. In the box next to Enable, select All Applications. Scroll through your list of Applications to find SALT. Select it and then Click Open. That should set the file association so that the computer knows that .slt files should be opened in SALT in the future.
